48822 Morphy Richards Soup Maker

“The first thing I noticed about the Morphy Richards soup maker was the design. The stainless steel and black looks very smart and would fit in well with any kitchen design.

I’d heard lots of good things about Morphy’s range of soup makers so I was really looking forward to giving one a try. As someone who doesn’t do a lot of home cooking my many previous attempts to make soup in a pan had all ended up in the bin…

At first I was feeling a bit sceptical about how easy it would be but I was amazed that it really was simple to use and to clean. The soup was really tasty, I just chopped up a couple of leeks, 3 or 4 potatoes, added 2 stock cubes and filled it up with cold water to the max line. I put it on the smooth setting pressed start and after about 20-25 mins the soup was ready. There was enough soup for 3 of us with more to spare for us to enjoy the following day. You’ll hear it stop and start during the soup making process,  but don’t worry, this is supposed to happen.

It is so easy to set up, you only have the main body, lid and power cable. At first I didn’t like the weight of it because I thought it would be too heavy once you’ve added the ingredients and water, but the majority of the weight is in motor inside the lid, which you remove to pour anyway. I thought it might all be a bit difficult to clean but it was actually really easy.

I would definitely recommend the Morphy Richards Soup Maker to others, in fact I’ve already recommended it to my friends and family. It can be so much more cost effective to make your own soup, plus you know exactly what is going into it, so for the health conscious this is a definite bonus. What’s more, instead of throwing away leftovers purely because there isn’t enough for another meal you can just make soup out of it! Therefore saving yourself more money and avoiding food wastage.”
