F4J610WS LG 10kg Direct Drive Freestanding Washing Machine Review

“I needed a new washing machine and decided to go for the LG 10kg, as we are a family of six so the large drum size best suited my needs.

Another important factor for me was peace of mind, so knowing that this machine is eligible for a 5 year parts and labour warranty, plus 10 years on the motor, it was an easy decision (warranty must be activated online on the LG website). I was already aware that LG are a reliable and good value brand, and I have not been disappointed.

The machine is easy to use, the LED display is clear, and you can easily see the time remaining plus other information such as temperature, spin speed and delay wash settings (up to 19 hours).

Thanks to the brushless Direct Drive Motor it is very quiet during use and economical, with an energy rating of A+++. There are 14 wash cycles available, including a steam cycle, which is great if you suffer from allergies. There is a tub clean cycle which should be used regularly to help maintain the performance of the machine. The start button also doubles as a handy pause feature, so if you forget something or have dropped a stray sock along the way, you can add to the wash during the cycle. Once your cycle is finished the machine will play a melodic little tune. You have the option to download more than ten additional cycles on your smartphone using the LG Smart ThinQ app (providing your phone is NFC – Near Field Communicaion – enabled, as this particular model doesn’t have WiFi capabilities).

Another great feature of this machine which, admittedly I have not had to use, is that if a fault occurs you can use the Smart Diagnosis feature via the LG app. Simply open up the app, head to Smart Diagnosis, hold your smartphone to the machine and it will send any diagnostic information straight to your phone, so that that you can then contact LG with the relevant info for an efficient after sales service.

I would recommend this washing machine to anyone who has a family or does many loads of washing, as it has definitely enabled me to cut down the amount of washes I have to do. It is particularly useful to do bedding as the large drum allows the washing more room to move, ensuring a very thorough wash.

I am so pleased with this LG washing machine and feel that it offers fantastic value for money given the quality and features that it brings.”
